Calgary Community String Orchestra is designed for beginner and intermediate adult string players, who have taken a minimum of two to three years of lessons on their instrument
Have you ever wanted to play in an orchestra? Want to try us on for size? We are excited to host open house play-ins at Central Memorial High School between sessions
Weekly orchestra rehearsals begin each September and January and run for 11 weeks. The final week is a concert. We welcome violin, viola, cello, and double bass players
At the end of every rehearsal session (Fall and Winter) CCSO will put on a performance for friends and family!
Do you enjoy playing in small string ensembles or have you always wished you could?
CCSO grew from Cellist, Anne Scott’s wish to have an ensemble opportunity for her adult string students. CCSO was born in 2009 and started with 18 students. We presently have over 35 students with our current director/conductor, Katrina Greenbow
At CCSO we play a variety of orchestral arrangements including Baroque, Classical, and Contemporary. No matter what style of music you love to play, CCSO will not disappoint!
The safety of our orchestra members is a top priority for the CCSO
